Overview
- New initiative to help us with Sunday worship
- Train and equip members in understanding what worship is and how the Bible tells us to approach it
- Create a team so that we all help bear the weight and not put it on any one individual member
- Create a culture of discipleship around one of the cornerstone
Rationale
- Sunday worship is a regular occurrence around which our church meets (the most stable meetings). It is the natural starting point for us to work together and build community because this is an important anchor point for our church
- Most people can make it to Sunday worship even if they cannot attend any other time. Sunday worship is a natural entry point for those who are interested in our church. This makes prioritizing Sunday worship and our time/attention/resources here a logical choice.
- Being able to serve for worship is a key part of our walk with God. It also grows our connection and ownership of worship and serving those who attend.
- The activities related to worship are wide ranging and can accommodate various levels of commitments, talents, interests, and ages. It also seems more likely people can serve on Sundays because they usually block out this time anyways. An incremental ask every so often seems manageable and a good low-key way to bring servants on board.
